iOS 16, due for release later this year, adds many significant updates and improvements to the Apple Home app and HomeKit functionality, including a redesigned UI, the ability to control HomeKit devices from the Lock Screen, faster camera stream start times and improved video quality, and more. We are very excited by how these updates will significantly improve the HomeKit user experience for Starling Home Hub users.
As expected with beta software, iOS 16 beta currently contains a number of known bugs impacting the HomeKit experience, which can cause issues with device discovery, HomeKit Secure Video, and reliability. Therefore, at this time we echo Apple's advice only to install iOS 16 beta on development devices.
Like other vendors, we are not able to provide support for customers who choose to use our products with iOS betas, because we do not have the capability to troubleshoot and resolve Apple iOS issues. If you have issues with Starling Home Hub on iOS 16 beta, please use Apple's Feedback tool to file a bug report with Apple.
Starling Home Hub will fully support iOS 16 when it is released in the Fall.
